What is "catered living"?
Catered living is all about convenience and providing a variety of service options so that a person can spend the time doing what he or she enjoys doing most and less time on things he or she doesn't enjoy doing as much, such as home maintenance. It also means having access to health related services and personal assistance if you need it. In short, catered living is about living life on your terms.
How much does it cost to be a member of CountrySide?
Members' monthly housing fees range from $1,500 to $1,775 based on the type of residence desired. We also have a number of ala carte home care services available beyond our standard membership package. You'll find that CountrySide and our sister community The Brooks provide the best values in the Owatonna area.
What is included in my monthly membership?
If you are not seeking health care and personal assistance services, the following is included in your monthly membership fee:
• One meal daily
• Light weekly housekeeping
• All utilities with the exception of telephone
• Air Conditioning
• Enriching social, spiritual and leisure programming
• General maintenance
• "While You're Away Services", e.g., watering plants, mail pick up, etc.
• 24 Hour Emergency Call System
• Gracious common area for your own use
• Complimentary laundry rooms for residents' use
If you seek personal assistance, we provide all services above, plus:
• Up to 3 meals daily
• RN assessment and health monitoring
• Medication management and administration
• Laundry services
• Assistance with bathing once, twice, or more weekly
• Medication management and administration
In addition we provide a wide variety of ala carte services and features for all CountrySide community members.
Can my pet live with me at CountrySide?
Absolutely. Small domesticated pets are allowed. They must be spayed or neutered, and residents must provide proof of all current shots. A non-refundable fee is required to help repair any potential damage.
Can I decorate my home the way I want to?
Absolutely.
How do I become a resident of the CountrySide community?
The application process is very easy. We have a simple application form. The Housing Manager can answer more questions you may have and also talk with you about the current availability at Countryside. We look forward to having you as a community member at CountrySide. Who owns and operates CountrySide?
CountrySide is owned and operated by Ecumen. Ecumen, which is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and is based in Shoreview, also owns and operates The Brooks, a popular senior living residence in Owatonna. Ecumen is Minnesota's largest non-profit provider of housing and services for people "living fully after 50." Ecumen's name comes from the Greek word for home: oikos.
